Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - One year after the XL and Smartfren merger,\nXLSMART has completed most of the integration within the company,\nincluding network integration which had reached 70% by the end of\nDecember 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cExpanding network reach in our numbers, we see that almost 70\npercent of the networks of the two companies has been integrated by the\nend of December 2025,\u201d said XLSMART Director & Chief Regulatory\nOfficer Merza Fachys during the Public Expose of the XLSMART 2026 AGM on\nWednesday 20 June 2026.<\/p>\n
Throughout 2025 there were 226,000 BTS, up 37 percent. Data traffic\nstood at 14,566 PB, growing in double digits.<\/p>\n
For 5G, XLSMART continued development. Merza explained that the reach\nis provided with a dedicated spectrum for 5G.<\/p>\n
The 5G reach also increased from 13 cities\/districts last year to 43\ncities\/districts this year. XLSMART will continue to expand the 5G\nnetwork.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo as of today we can say we have completed build-out in 43 cities\nin Indonesia, all of which are fully covered by our 5G service,\u201d Merza\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He explained the network covers the entire cities, not just one area\nor point.<\/p>\n
Director & Chief Technology Officer XLSMART, Shurish Subbramaniam\nsaid the choice of 5G cities is the ones that are ready, depending on\ndevice penetration in a given city.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on the cities where we can implement 5G without reducing the\nquality of 4G in those cities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The network integration is targeted to be completed two years after\nthe XLSMART merger in 2025. In other words, by April 2027 all networks\nwill be unified.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere the integration process will run for two years. They will run\nfor two years, from April 2025 to April 2027,\u201d said Director & Chief\nFinancial Officer XLSMART, Antony Susilo.<\/p>\n
Revenue Up 23 Percent<\/p>\n
XLSMART reported revenue of Rp 42.49 trillion for 2025, up 23% year\non year.<\/p>\n
EBITDA rose 13% to Rp 20.13 trillion. Expanded capex increased 53% to\nRp 11.2 trillion and net profit Rp 3 trillion or up 63%.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdditionally, for capex, we recorded Rp 11.2 trillion in 2025, up\nfrom Rp 7.3 trillion the year before. Why is this increase so large?\nBecause after the merger we focused immediately on network integration,\u201d\nAntony said.<\/p>\n
Thus, customers of the three brands under XLSMART can enjoy a better\nexperience. The company merged networks so each brand can use the\nother\u2019s network.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo Smartfren customers can use the network of XL, and Axis, and Axis\ncustomers can also use the Smartfren network,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
By the end of 2025, XLSMART had 73 million customers across the three\nbrands under the company, namely XL, Axis, and Smartfren. The figure\nrose from 58 million users the previous year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese customers generated traffic of 14,566 PB, a double-digit\ngrowth from the previous year. With an ARPU of almost Rp 39,500,\u201d said\nAntony.<\/p>\n
In Q1-2026, XLSMART posted gross revenue of Rp 11.8 trillion, up 38%\nfrom a year earlier. EBITDA for the first three months stood at Rp 5.4\ntrillion with a margin of 45.6%.<\/p>\n
During that period customers increased by 18% to 69.4 million. The\nnumber of BTS rose to 253,750 units (up 54%).<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd our 5G services are already rolled out; by December 2025 there\nwere 13 cities, we have added 30 more cities. So total by March 2026, 43\ncities,\u201d he explained. \u201cThis will continue to grow given market\ndynamics,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
