Jakarta (ANTARA) - Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its upcoming\nflagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Pro, will be equipped with a privacy\nscreen feature and will utilise the Super Pixel 2.0 display.<\/p>\n
This new display will combine flagship-grade image quality with\nhardware-level privacy protection integrated directly into the\nscreen.<\/p>\n
Quoting Gizmochina on Monday (21\/9) local time, the announcement was\nmade directly by the company via its social media posts in China.<\/p>\n
This news complements previous confirmations from the company that\nthe smartphone will debut on 23 September 2026 at 19:00 local time, and\nthat the series will utilise the M11 display material.<\/p>\n
According to Xiaomi, the Super Pixel 2.0 display uses the M11\nlight-emitting system, a new green light-emitting material, a full RGB\npixel arrangement, and built-in hardware-level privacy protection.<\/p>\n
This new green material is claimed to increase lighting efficiency by\nup to 20 per cent, while the screen can reach a peak brightness of 4,000\nnits.<\/p>\n
Xiaomi also stated that the full RGB pixel layout helps maintain\npixel clarity without loss of quality. The company claims this display\ncan use almost the same amount of power as a 1.5K panel while providing\nclarity equivalent to a 2K screen.<\/p>\n
Naturally, these conclusions are Xiaomi\u2019s own claims, and the company\nhas not yet provided detailed test results. Independent testing is\nrequired to see how the screen performs in real-world usage.<\/p>\n
Regarding the privacy feature, Xiaomi has not yet explained in detail\nhow this hardware-level privacy protection works.<\/p>\n
However, leaks from August 2026 have already provided a glimpse of\nwhat the software side, named \u2018Smart Privacy Display\u2019, might look\nlike.<\/p>\n
For instance, banking applications could use a privacy mode while\nvideo applications do not. This feature could also activate\nautomatically when the phone detects certain sensitive screens.<\/p>\n
Leaked information suggests four types of content that would\nautomatically trigger the screen privacy feature on the Xiaomi 18 Pro:\npassword entry, payments, fund transfers, and messages.<\/p>\n
