        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The digital platform X has set a minimum user age limit of\n16 years in Indonesia as part of its compliance with Government\nRegulation Number 17 of 2025 on Digital Ecosystem Governance for Child\nProtection (PP Tunas).<\/p>\n<p>The Director General of Digital Space Oversight at the Ministry of\nCommunication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi), Alexander Sabar, stated\nthat this change represents a concrete step by the global platform in\nmeeting national regulatory obligations whilst enhancing child\nprotection in digital spaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate the concrete action taken by X as a demonstration of\nits compliance commitment whilst ensuring child protection in digital\nspaces,\u201d Alexander said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Alexander stated that X has communicated this change through a\ndedicated Help Centre page for Indonesia, accessible via the provided\nlink.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from 27 March 2026, X stated it will implement its action\nplan to identify and deactivate user accounts that do not meet the\napplicable minimum age requirement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKemkomdigi will conduct periodic monitoring of progress in this\nprocess to ensure compliance with PP Tunas regulations is fulfilled,\u201d\nAlexander said.<\/p>\n<p>Kemkomdigi emphasised that other electronic system operators (PSEs)\nwho have received letters from Communications and Digital Affairs\nMinister Meutya Hafid should promptly provide formal responses and take\nconcrete steps as X has and will undertake.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cActive and timely compliance from all PSEs is a crucial factor in\ncreating a digital ecosystem that is safe for children,\u201d Alexander\nstated.<\/p>",
