        "content": "<p>Wrong data about telephone tariffs<\/p>\n<p>The table showing an international comparison of telephone<br>\ntariffs on page 12 of the Nov. 19 issue of The Jakarta Post<br>\ncontains numerous errors and is misleading. The tariffs of other<br>\ncountries expressed in U.S. dollars have not been changed with<br>\nthe depreciation of the rupiah. Thus, all data except those for<br>\nIndonesia are wrong in the five columns with the heading \"USD Rp<br>\n3,200\". The whole comparison misses its point.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the columns under \"Local call\/minute\" should<br>\nhave had three decimal spaces to be readable. Furthermore, the<br>\ntelephone density figures for at least the Philippines and<br>\nIndonesia are shown ten times too small. All these errors<br>\nactually contradict the good intentions of the whole<br>\npresentation, i.e. to show that calls in Indonesia are now even<br>\ncheaper than before on an international scale.<\/p>\n<p>If this product of a sleepy spreadsheet operator has been<br>\ndistributed to the House of Representatives, it might be<br>\nreasonable to ask the Ministry of Tourism, Post and<br>\nTelecommunications for an official correction.<\/p>\n<p>HENRIK NYQVIST<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta<\/p>",
