I'm concerned that the economy is worsening. Many factors
\nsupport my concern. After current developments, many people have
\nvoiced disappointment with President Abdurrahman \"Gus Dur\"
\nWahid's administration. This disappointment will certainly give
\nrise to political opposition and clashes, until eventually there
\nwill be no political stability. Economic instability will follow.
\nAnd again, needy people will fall victim.<\/p>\n
For example, after Thursday's announcement of the new Cabinet,
\nmany criticized the Cabinet. The criticism is natural as the
\nCabinet composition doesn't comply with people's desires. People
\nwant a Cabinet composed of professionals. But, factually, Gus Dur
\nprefers to choose the people closest to him as ministers.<\/p>\n
So, the appointment of the ministers is not objective but
\nsubjective according to Gus Dur's desire. Though the Cabinet has
\nnot been installed yet, many people are pessimistic regarding its
\nperformance. The most regrettable thing is that the unfortunate
\nsituation will impede economic recovery.<\/p>\n
That's why I predict the economy won't get better but will
\nworsen. The problem is there is an absence of political stability
\ndue to political antagonism and clashes which always happen. The
\npolitical elite must stop quibbling. Remember, we are in the
\nreform era, why do you keep bickering? Don't you have any pity
\nfor the average citizen?<\/p>\n
