        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto,\nhas responded to the World Bank\u2019s revision of its projection for\nIndonesia\u2019s economic growth in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>It is known that the World Bank has previously revised and lowered\nits projection for Indonesia\u2019s economic growth in 2026, from the\nprevious level of 4.8 per cent to 4.7 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Airlangga stated that the World Bank\u2019s projection\ndowngrade is certainly related to the current global geopolitical\ndynamics, primarily the impact due to the war in the Middle East\nregion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo at present, many countries are experiencing adjustments to\nprojections due to the war situation and global pressures,\u201d said\nAirlangga when met at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy office,\nJakarta, Thursday afternoon, 9 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the 4.7 per cent figure is still above the global economic\ngrowth average of 3.4 per cent,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Airlangga further stated that the current national economic condition\nremains relatively strong compared to many other countries. This, he\nbelieves, forms the basis for optimism that the national economy\u2019s\nperformance will continue to show positive results going forward.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Airlangga emphasised that the government is still awaiting\nthe realisation of first-quarter 2026 economic data, as a more concrete\nindicator to serve as a benchmark.<\/p>\n<p>However, fundamentally, Airlangga explained that each institution\nnaturally has its own methodology and assumptions in making such\npredictions. Therefore, he personally remains optimistic that the\nnational economic fundamentals will be able to maintain stable economic\ngrowth in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProjections are based on their own calculations.
