Works to disrupt water supply<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: City's two tap water companies announced over the
\nweekend that some areas in the capital would experience water
\nsupply disruption, due to scheduled repairs and the installation
\nof new pipes.<\/p>\n
PT Thames PAM Jaya (TPJ) said that it would repair the Pasar
\nRebo booster pump in East Jakarta on Sept. 9 and Sept. 10
\nstarting at 10 a.m. and water supplies would be disrupted in
\nCawang subdistrict, Cililitan, Halim and other surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
New pipe installation will occur near Jl. Pegangsaan Dua,
\nCentral Jakarta, on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m., to 4 a.m. on Sept. 13 and
\nwill also disrupt the water supply of customers in Pegangsaan Dua
\nsubdistrict.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, PT Palyja -- which supplies water for the western
\npart of the city -- said that the company will repair a 600-meter
\npipe on Jl. Menteng Prapatan, Central Jakarta, starting 8 a.m. on
\nMonday until 9 a.m. on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The work will disrupt the water supply of customers living on
\nJl. Cikini, Jl. Medan Merdeka, Jl. Ir. H. Juanda, Jl. Hayam Wuruk

Bulungan Complex for sports, arts<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Head of the City Sports and Youth Agency, Yudhi
\nSuyoto, asserted over the weekend that the Bulungan Youth Sports
\nComplex in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, will not be open to
\noutside business activities.<\/p>\n
\"The complex will only provide facilities for sports and arts.
\nThere won't be any business activities here,\" he said, responding
\nto the city administration's plan to renovate the complex this
\nweek.<\/p>\n
Yudhi refuted rumors that the administration has cooperated
\nwith Klub Sejuta Foundation to manage the complex after the
\nrenovations.<\/p>\n
The administration has planned to self-finance the complex's
\noperational costs by opening a minimarket, a beauty parlor and a
\nboutique in the complex. It has become one of the most popular
\nplaces to hang-out for high school students.<\/p>\n
Yudhi said that the Sejuta Foundation -- which has used part
\nof the complex for youth activities -- would need to renew their
\ncontract in March 2004 instead of the original 2006.<\/p>\n
