        "content": "<p>Workers protest firm arbitrariness<\/p>\n<p>MEDAN, North Sumatra: Leaders of a union on Wednesday reported<br>\nalleged arbitrariness by plantation company PT Tolan Tiga<br>\nIndonesia to Medan councillors.<\/p>\n<p>The management of the Belgium-owned company had removed three<br>\nunion leaders from their respective positions at the company's<br>\nheadquarters in Medan after they demanded annual bonuses, said<br>\nM.B. Natalwood, the chairman of the Indonesian Staff Union at the<br>\ncompany.<\/p>\n<p>The three union leaders in question, who were moved to the<br>\ncompany's branches in Rantau Prapat and Bengkulu, were Natalwood,<br>\nunion secretary Ericman Simangunsong and spokesman Deborah<br>\nTambunan.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, the company's human resources manager Joni Tobing<br>\nsaid that the transfer of staff posts had nothing to do with the<br>\ncompany bonus.
