I received my salary at PT Semen Cibinong (PT SC) from June 1,
\n1994 until June 1, 1999 starting from Rp 115,000 per month plus a
\nmedical allowance of about Rp 30,000. My last salary was Rp
\n192,500 while the medical allowance remained at Rp 30,000.<\/p>\n
On July 1, 1999, I was transferred to the Employees'
\nCooperative of PT SC, without a clear status of my employment.
\nDespite my limited knowledge of manpower regulations, I know that
\nthere is a limit for a contract employee to be appointed as a
\npermanent employee. After becoming a contract employee receiving
\na monthly wage in the PT SC Employees' Cooperative, my
\nremuneration was not becoming better but worse, as is evident
\nfrom my uncertain employment status. Then there is no company
\nregulation, no welfare allowances like Manpower Social Security
\n(Jamsostek) despite clear regulations about it and other
\nremuneration to which I should be entitled.<\/p>\n
Since PT SC was led by Hasyim Djojohadikusumo and then under
\nthe now owner, i.e. Holcim Group chaired by Tom A Clough, my lot
\nhas never changed and has, instead, become more uncertain.
\nWhat are the manpower regulations for? As a common worker my
\nstatus has yet to be changed to a permanent one. The company's
\nclarification would be highly appreciated.<\/p>\n
