        "content": "<p>Women to take action against DPR<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: A coalition of women's groups plans to take legal<br>\naction against the Ministry of Home Affairs and the House of<br>\nRepresentatives (DPR) for ignoring the 30-percent quota for women<br>\nin state institutions related to public policy making.<\/p>\n<p>The network claimed that the rejection went against the 1945<br>\nConstitution and the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) decree<br>\nthat recommends an increase in women's representation in policy-<br>\nmaking institutions to up to 30 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\"We will use all legal means and international fora to force<br>\nthe government and DPR to recognize the rights of Indonesian<br>\nwomen,\" secretary-general of the Indonesian Women's Coalition for<br>\nJustice and Democracy, Nursyahbani Katjasungkana, said here on<br>\nThursday.<\/p>\n<p>She did not specify what form the action would take.<\/p>\n<p>Legislator Nurdiati Akma of the Reform faction welcomed the<br>\nproposal and urged the activists to join forces with other<br>\npressure groups in demanding the quota. -- JP<\/p>",
