Woman wanted for Rp 1 billion fraud<\/p>\n
BOGOR: The police are looking for a woman who allegedly
\ndefrauded 50 of her neighbors in the Pamoyanan Sari housing
\ncomplex in Rangga Mekar, South Bogor, out of some Rp 1 billion.<\/p>\n
Liliana Prawira, 45, alias Eeng, allegedly lured the victims
\ninto investing in her business with promises of high profits.<\/p>\n
She claimed she sold various types of merchandise, from
\nfurniture and kitchenware to electronic goods and cellular
\nphones.<\/p>\n
Liliana's husband, Teddy Suherman Sunarta, said during police
\nquestioning on Monday that his wife had not been home since Sept.
\n14.<\/p>\n
Siti, a food vendor, said she lost Rp 6 million in the scam.
\nMany other investors suffered even heavier losses.<\/p>\n
Selvy said she handed over Rp 124 million to Liliana, who
\nclaimed she had received an order for 50 cellular phones that she
\nwould be able to sell at a profit of 10 percent.<\/p>\n
Another victim, Lalan, handed over Rp 100 million after the
\nsuspect told her she had received an order for 50 beds at a price
\nof Rp 2 million per unit. --JP<\/p>",
