        "content": "<p>Woman stockbroker robbed of Rp 500m outside JSX<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): A female stock broker was allegedly robbed on<br>\nMonday afternoon of Rp 500 million outside the Jakarta Stock<br>\nExchange tower in the busy Sudirman Central Business District in<br>\nSouth Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>According to a police source, Nina, 38, was waiting for her<br>\ndriver when two people on a motorcycle approached. They<br>\nbrandished a gun, shot it into the air, and then snatched her<br>\nsatchel and rode off.<\/p>\n<p>\"It went so smoothly. Nina kept on screaming, but nobody came<br>\nto her aid. What the tower's security guards were doing at that<br>\npoint, I have no idea,\" said the officer.<\/p>\n<p>\"It happened at about 3:30 p.m. She had US$50,000 (Rp 400<br>\nmillion), several million rupiah and cash cheques in that<br>\nsatchel, all of them amounting to Rp 500 million.\"<\/p>\n<p>The officer added that Nina was the wife of a doctor at<br>\nPertamina Hospital in South Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>When contacted, South Jakarta chief of detectives Capt. Rycko<br>\nAmelza Daniel said he had not yet been informed of the robbery.<\/p>\n<p>He said the most recent robbery report concerned a Sunday<br>\nmidday robbery at the state-owned branch office of the Perum<br>\nPegadaian pawnshop on Jl. Wijaya in Kebayoran Baru. In the heist,<br>\nthe robbers managed to make off with nearly Rp 4 billion worth of<br>\ngold and diamonds.<\/p>\n<p>Rycko said police officers had focused their investigation on<br>\nthe interrogation of the two security officers of the pawnshop<br>\nbranch office.<\/p>\n<p>Pegadaian's director of operations Dedi Kusdedi said earlier:<br>\n\"According to a guard, two robbers broke into the office through<br>\nthe steel gates.\"<\/p>\n<p>\"The sad part is that 99 percent of the things pawned at the<br>\nKebayoran Baru office are jewels, mostly diamonds and gold. This<br>\nmust have been pre-planned, but I can't say for sure.\"<\/p>\n<p>Dedi said the security guards who came across the scene<br>\nimmediately reported the case to the South Jakarta Police<br>\nprecinct.<\/p>\n<p>Rycko added that police detectives were still investigating<br>\nthe case.
