Woman stabbed in rape attempt<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Eka Sulistyowati, 22, a fish vendor at Ciputat
\nMarket, Tangerang regency, was severely wounded after another
\nvendor Dedi stabbed her several times in a rape attempt at 2:30
\na.m. on Sunday as the market was opening.<\/p>\n
Eka was sent to Fatmawati Hospital due to gash wounds in her
\nstomach, right thigh, left leg and right arm.<\/p>\n
Police reports said Eka had just arrived at the market to open
\nher kiosk. Since the market was busy during the early morning
\nhours, Eka did not suspect any trouble.<\/p>\n
However, after coming way out of a restroom, Eka was met by a
\nfriend named Parmanto, who introduced her to Dedi. Parmanto later
\nleft the two alone.<\/p>\n
Eka felt uncomfortable because he looked drunk and was
\ncarrying a knife. He claimed the knife was used to cut fish.<\/p>\n
Dedi later cornered Eka and tried to rape her. She screamed
\nand Dedi began stabbing her.<\/p>\n
Ciputat Police officers are still searching for Dedi, who fled
