        "content": "<p>Woman jailed for abusing maid<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE: A woman was jailed for seven weeks after her<br>\nIndonesian maid jumped out of a second-floor Singapore flat to<br>\nescape abuse, a newspaper reported on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Amelia Mohamed Ishak, 28, pleaded guilty in a magistrate's<br>\ncourt to hurting the 20-year-old maid by twisting her ears,<br>\nhitting and kicking her for not doing her chores well.<\/p>\n<p>In sentencing Amelia, Magistrate Eric Tin said she had used<br>\n\"excessive violence\".<\/p>\n<p>Muslikah Suliandi broke her right leg in the fall last Jan.<br>\n22, but managed to approach a couple for help.
