Witness tells of sexual abuse<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: A witness told the human rights court on Tuesday she
\nexperienced sexual abuse during her detention by the military
\nfollowing a shooting incident in the North Jakarta area of
\nTanjung Priok in 1984.<\/p>\n
The woman, Aminatun, 46, recalled the humiliation she suffered
\nduring 40 days of detention at the Jakarta Military Police
\nheadquarters in Guntur, South Jakarta and the Military Police
\ndetention center in Cimanggis, near Bogor in West Java.<\/p>\n
"They once undressed me, until I was wearing only my bra and
\nunderpants," she said in her testimony during the trial of former
\nJakarta Military Police chief Maj. Gen. (ret) Pranowo.<\/p>\n
She said she was put under severe mental pressure during the
\ndetention, during which she also experienced repeated
\nintimidation.<\/p>\n
Following the detention, she said she received treatment at a
\nmental hospital run by Dadang Hawari and Mu'at.<\/p>\n
Aminatun was allowed to testify after three other witnesses
\nfailed to turn up. The defense lawyer, Yan Juanda Saputra,
