        "content": "<p>Witness amuses the public<\/p>\n<p>SERANG, West Java (JP): A construction worker testifying in<br>\ncourt on a criminal case, entertained the public this week with<br>\nhis wildly inaccurate account of the event.<\/p>\n<p>Suparta, 40, was testifying on the alleged assault of a bus<br>\nterminal project manager, Dedi Subandi, by a school teacher and<br>\nformer regency official.<\/p>\n<p>The witness claimed he clearly saw one of the men who attacked<br>\nthe defendant because he was standing \"only\" six meters from the<br>\nscene. He said the attacker wore a pink shirt, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>When Judge Soekartono asked him if he recognized the attacker,<br>\nSuparta -- to the public's thunderous laughter -- pointed to the<br>\ndefendant's defense lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>\"The incident happened at 10 minutes past 10 a.m. Your Honor,\"<br>\nhe told the judge.<\/p>\n<p>\"Did you look at your watch then?\" the judge asked.<\/p>\n<p>\"No Your Honor, I did not have one,\" Suparta replied.
