        "content": "<p>TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Foreign Minister Sugiono will lead the Indonesian\ndelegation on behalf of President Prabowo Subianto at the 81st Session\nof the United Nations General Assembly, the country\u2019s foreign affairs\nministry confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cForeign Minister Sugiono will attend a series of high-level meetings\nat the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York next week,\u201d\nsaid Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang at a\nmedia briefing in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>President Prabowo, meanwhile, will not be attending the UN General\nAssembly agenda in person this year because he wants to focus on\ndomestic affairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the president\u2019s directive for the Indonesian Foreign Minister\nto attend the UN General Assembly next month, as the president will be\nfocusing on domestic affairs,\u201d Mewengkang said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mewengkang, Minister Sugiono will attend at least 22\nmeetings during the UNGA week this year, including the General Debate\nSession and mandatory meetings, as well as high-level meetings and\nbilateral meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Sugiono will attend several high-level meetings on the\nsidelines of the UN General Assembly, including the Organization of\nIslamic Cooperation (OIC) and the MIKTA multilateral forum, she\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>At this year\u2019s UN General Assembly, Indonesia will bring the message\nof strengthening national and regional resilience to achieve global\nresilience.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia will continue to advocate for world peace, including the\nPalestinian independence, and reiterate its commitment to acting as a\nbridge between the world and the interests of developing countries and\nnational development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia\u2019s participation in this series of meetings will convey\nmessages about strengthening multilateralism and inclusivity as well,\u201d\nshe said.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry spokesperson revealed that on the same occasion,\nIndonesia will also intensify its national campaign for its candidacy as\na non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2029-2030\nterm.<\/p>\n<p>This campaign will be carried out, among other things, through a\ndiplomatic reception on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The 81st session of the UN General Assembly kicked off in New York on\nSeptember 8.
