        "content": "<p>Gowa (ANTARA) - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) continues to\ndemonstrate its commitment to supporting national water resource\ninfrastructure development through the acceleration of the Jenelata Dam\nproject in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>By the first quarter of 2026, the dam\u2019s construction progress has\nreached approximately 25.2%, with work focusing on excavation of soil\nand rock in the spillway area (overflow structure) and abutment (dam\nsupport), as well as the implementation of the main dam foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Several crucial tasks, such as foundation excavation, slope\nprotection, and access road construction, are being accelerated, with\nthe main dam area prepared to enter the embankment phase.<\/p>\n<p>The Jenelata Dam project forms part of WIKA\u2019s contribution to\nsupporting the national development agenda, particularly in realising\nAsta Cita, with emphasis on strengthening food security, water\nresilience, and sustainable and equitable infrastructure\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>WIKA\u2019s President Director, Agung Budi Waskito, stated that the dam\u2019s\nconstruction not only focuses on completing the build but also on\ncreating long-term benefits for the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe construction of the Jenelata Dam is part of WIKA\u2019s commitment to\nsupporting the Asta Cita agenda through the provision of infrastructure\nthat strengthens water resilience, supports agricultural productivity,\nand improves community welfare. We are optimistic that this project will\nbring significant benefits to the South Sulawesi region,\u201d said Agung\nBW.<\/p>\n<p>In its execution, the project adopts modern construction technologies\nsuch as the Concrete Face Rockfill Dam (CFRD) method and the application\nof 5D Building Information Modeling (BIM) to enhance efficiency,\naccuracy, and integrated project control.<\/p>\n<p>With a storage capacity of 223.6 million m\u00b3, the Jenelata Dam is\ndesigned to provide various strategic benefits, including flood control\nin the Jeneberang River Basin, irrigation water supply for approximately\n25,783 hectares of agricultural land, and raw water sources for\ncommunities in the Makassar, Gowa, Maros, and Takalar regions.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the dam has the potential to support the development of\nnew renewable energy through a 7 MW Hydropower Plant (PLTA), thereby\ncontributing to national energy transition efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The project is targeted for completion on 17 June 2028 and is\nexpected to become one of the strategic infrastructures that delivers\nsustainable economic, social, and environmental impacts, while\nreinforcing WIKA\u2019s role as a national development partner.<\/p>",
