According to the report<br>\nthe professor was interrogated for about six and a half hours. It<br>\nis deplorable because the police had no clear reason to<br>\ninterrogate Prof. Hefner, who is honored by the Islamic community<br>\nin Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>His speech in front of an academic forum did not touch<br>\npractical politics. The speech was purely academic in nature.<br>\nThe scholar spoke about how Islamic society could best and<br>\npositively contribute to the democracy prevailing in this<br>\ncountry, a speech that was worth studying.<\/p>\n<p>If the questions from the audience were considered irrelevant,<br>\nwhy was Dr. Hefner subjected to this interrogation?
