The National Police\u2019s Human Resources (SSDM) staff, acting as the\ncentral committee for the 2026 Police Academy (Akpol) cadet selection,\nis conducting the appearance check (rikpil) as the final stage of the\nrecruitment process. Unlike administrative, health, psychological,\nacademic, physical fitness (kesamaptaan), and mental and personality\ndepth (PMK) examinations, which are held at both the regional police\n(polda) and national headquarters (Mabes Polri) levels, the rikpil stage\nis exclusively conducted at the national level. \u201cThis is to ensure that the selection process is correct. It serves\nas a control mechanism for Police leaders to guarantee the selection is\ntruly clean, transparent, and accountable. We must not have a situation\nwhere a participant fails the test at the regional level, but then\nappears as a participant here at the national level,\u201d explained the\nAssistant to the National Police Chief for Human Resources, Inspector\nGeneral Anwar, to detikcom at the Police Academy in Semarang, Central\nJava, on Saturday (25\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n
Inspector General Anwar described the rikpil as a complement to the\nlengthy Police Academy cadet selection process. In addition to checking\nwhether the quality of the prospective cadets matches the data on file\nwith what is observed in a face-to-face meeting, the rikpil is a moment\nfor participants to demonstrate abilities and talents not accommodated\nin previous tests. \u201cThis rikpil activity is to complete the series of\ntests. It explores the abilities and achievements of prospective male\nand female cadets that were not uncovered in the previous tests,\u201d said\nInspector General Anwar. \u201cThe academic test is done, the psychological\ntest is done, the exploration of interests, talents, and abilities is\ndone, the physical fitness test is done. But their achievements and\ntalents have not yet been fully explored,\u201d added the former Bengkulu\nRegional Police Chief.<\/p>\n
Inspector General Anwar explained that the rikpil could be a lifeline\nfor a cadet\u2019s score. Conversely, it could also become a barrier. \u201cIf\nhere we find something inconsistent with the selection result data, it\ncan become a barrier for the cadet to pass. If the participant\u2019s quality\nis good, they meet the requirements to become a member of the National\nPolice, and there are other potentials we can explore,\u201d said Inspector\nGeneral Anwar.<\/p>\n
Weighting of the Three Assessment Aspects<\/p>\n
Inspector General Anwar explained there are three assessment aspects\nin the Police Academy cadet recruitment. The first is the academic depth\ntest and English language ability, the second is the physical fitness\ntest, and the third is this rikpil. \u201cAt the national level test, there\nare three aspects: academics, which include academic potential test and\nEnglish, then physical fitness, and finally this rikpil,\u201d said the\nformer Head of the SSDM Personnel Care Bureau.<\/p>\n
Out of the total score weighting of 100 percent, the academic and\nEnglish language ability aspect carries the highest weight. This is\nfollowed by the physical fitness aspect, which is weighted at half of\nthe academic and English language ability aspect. Finally, Inspector\nGeneral Anwar stated, is the rikpil, which has the smallest weight due\nto the element of subjective assessment during its implementation.\nInspector General Anwar termed the rikpil aspect as a bonus score.\n\u201cIdeally, the academic weight is the highest out of 100 percent, because\nthese participants are future Police leaders. The medium weight is\nphysical fitness because their physique must be strong, they must not be\nweak. Because the rikpil still involves subjective assessment, we give\nit a lower weight, as a bonus score,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n
It is known that by the final stage of the Police Academy central\ncommittee selection, the number of remaining prospective male and female\ncadets is 404. They consist of 365 prospective male cadets and 35\nprospective female cadets.
