Most government officials have rejected the Independent
\nElection Monitoring Committee. What are they afraid of?<\/p>\n
After 50 years of independence, the government should be wiser
\nand more mature. Is our sense of nationalism on the decline?
\nIsn't the Pancasila promotion agency reaching its target of
\nnation and character building? Why don't we leave democracy to
\ndevelop without coercion.<\/p>\n
It is no secret that there is a camouflaged campaign going on,
\nmost of it covered on television. Government officials tour the
\nprovinces financed by state money. At the same time they make
\nthemselves available for party members and campaigning purposes,
\n\"killing two birds with one stone.\" The other political parties,
\nhowever, have no such privileges.<\/p>\n
In my opinion, it would be more beneficial if the funds used
\nfor these tours were allocated for social programs such as the
\nbuilding of hospitals or the development of eastern Indonesia.<\/p>\n
