We feel a lot of satisfaction every time we read or hear
\nreports about businesspeople and entertainers donating basic
\nfoodstuffs to the less fortunate.<\/p>\n
Their actions show their concern for the people in the present
\nmonetary crisis. Their help is all the more appreciated if the
\nfood is distributed free. Some people object to this because it
\nis not educational, but it does not matter. At least it
\nalleviates the suffering of the poor.<\/p>\n
After much exposure in newspapers and on TV, a question has
\narisen: Why do the social activities mostly take place in
\nJakarta? Why is there no attention given to rural areas where
\nmany people also lack foodstuffs and cannot afford to buy any?<\/p>\n
They would certainly be happy if some philanthropists,
\nbusinesspeople and entertainers came to visit them bearing
\nfoodstuffs at lowered prices, or for free. Rural people are
\nconfused these days. Should they travel to Jakarta in the current
\neconomic crisis? Waiting in their villages is also a problem in
\nbetween crops. There is no money for food and sugar.<\/p>\n
Everything is expensive now. I appeal to philanthropists,
\nbusinesspeople and entertainers to take some time off to reduce
\nthe burden of rural people. Their activities should not only
\ncover Jakarta. We highly appreciate actor Tamara Bleszynski who,
\nalong with her parents, recently showed her social concern in
\nCianjur, West Java.<\/p>\n
