Why all this doubt?<\/p>\n
The hike in fuel prices, electricity as well as telephone
\nrates are unavoidable. The increase is caused by various factors
\nthat leave us with only two options: Raising the rates so that
\nthe companies can properly function or retaining the current
\nrates with decreased quality of service and quantity of products.<\/p>\n
Both electricity rates and fuel prices are going to be upped
\nthis month, while the increase in telephone rates has been
\npostponed pending the authorization of the Minister of
\nTransportation and Telecommunications.<\/p>\n
Whatever the reason, we cannot commend the government's
\nattitude in allowing the simultaneous increase of essential
\nrates.<\/p>\n
The above increases are additional burdens for the people,
\nbecause they will just gnaw away at their income, which have long
\nbeen suppressed due to inflation. But the people have no choice,
\nbecause, above all, the leaders in government are the choice of
\nthe people. The general public can only hope and pray that the
\nfuel and electricity companies will be honest and efficient.<\/p>\n
