Though the 2004 general election is only several weeks away,
\nthere still does not seem to be any public enthusiasm for this
\nevent. There have not yet been any radio or TV broadcasts to
\neducate people about the elections, as required by the
\nConstitution.<\/p>\n
TV programs have not aired the logos, visions or platforms of
\nthe political parties, especially the new ones, to inform the
\npublic. Prospective voters should have a clear idea of who and
\nwhat they are going to elect, particularly because the
\npresidential election will be the first direct presidential
\nelection this country has seen.<\/p>\n
In order to boost election zeal, government agencies, social
\nand neighborhood organizations, and religious institutions must
\nplay a part. They can do such things as put up party logos and
\npost the names of legislative candidates.<\/p>\n
It is necessary to get the public involved in the elections,
\nwithout coercing or burdening people, because our society is
\nmostly indifferent toward such political events because the lives
\nof the people never seem to change.<\/p>\n
