The Probolinggo-Situbondo-Banyuwangi (Prosiwangi) toll road section\nin Situbondo Regency, East Java, has begun functional operations to\nsupport the smooth flow of mudik and balik (homecoming and return)\ntraffic during Eid 2026.<\/p>\n
AKP Nanang Hendra Irawan, Head of Traffic Police at Situbondo Police\nResort, stated on Saturday that the Prosiwangi western toll section will\noperate functionally from 14-29 March 2026, a period of 16 days.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the functional opening period, toll use is free of charge\nuntil the Paiton toll exit in Probolinggo, a distance of approximately\n46 kilometres, and beyond that point, toll road users must pay according\nto established tariffs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
AKP Nanang indicated that congestion is expected at the western\nSitubondo toll exit during peak Eid travel, predicted to occur on\nWednesday 18 March as the Eid holiday begins on 19-24 March 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cState Civil Apparatus (ASN) personnel return to offices on Tuesday\n17 March, after which we anticipate a significant increase in vehicle\nvolume,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
To date, Nanang continued, his team has prepared several strategies\nto ease predicted traffic congestion at the western Situbondo toll exit,\nincluding vehicle screening measures.<\/p>\n
Should vehicles accumulate, he said, they will be directed through\nthe nearest Paiton toll exit in Probolinggo towards Situbondo.<\/p>\n
For arterial road traffic, vehicles will be diverted via the Buduan\nVillage three-way junction in Suboh District, leading towards the\nArak-Arak Bondowoso route, coordinated with Bondowoso Police Resort.<\/p>\n
Nanang Hendra noted that increased vehicle volume during peak mudik\nis the primary cause of congestion, with the western Situbondo toll exit\nsituated only approximately 800 metres from the three-way Suboh traffic\nlight intersection.<\/p>\n
