Western Australia names new envoy<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The state government of Western Australia has appointed
\nTrevor Boughton as the new regional director for its
\nrepresentative office in Indonesia. He is taking over the
\nposition from Ross Taylor.<\/p>\n
A press release, made available to The Jakarta Post on
\nWednesday, said that Boughton would bridge the relationship
\nbetween Indonesian and Australian businesspeople. Upon assuming
\nthe new post, he will soon meet Indonesians whose businesses are
\nrelated or linked to the Western Australian market as well as
\nassist Western Australian clients in entering the Indonesian
\nmarket.<\/p>\n
\"On top of that, he will also be looking after the East Java-
\nWestern Australia sister state or province relationship, which
\nhas now entered its 14th year,\" the release said.<\/p>\n
Boughton is very familiar with Indonesia and speaks Bahasa
\nIndonesia fluently. He holds an academic diploma in Indonesian
\nlanguage and culture from Satya Wacana University in Salatiga,
\nCentral Java. His formal education was in Agricultural Science at
\nthe University of Western Australia.<\/p>\n
Before taking up his current position, he held several other
\nsenior posts related to agriculture. He worked with Agriculture
\nWestern Australia (AGWEST) until 1996, in which he did a lot of
\nresearch and developed marketing support for Western Australian
\nAgriculture and Food products in Indonesia. --JP<\/p>",
