        "content": "<p>West Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprov Sumbar) has confirmed\nthat the 1447 Hijriyah\/2026 Qurban Distribution Programme in Mentawai\nIslands Regency is proceeding smoothly and reaching the intended\nrecipients.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated by the Head of Sumbar\u2019s Kesbangpol Agency, Mursalim,\nfollowing a monitoring visit with the Director of Prof.\u00a0HB. Saanin\nPsychiatric Hospital, the hospital\u2019s Finance Section Head, and\nKesbangpol officials to Mentawai Islands Regency on Saturday (30\nMay).<\/p>\n<p>He said that in 2026, the province will distribute five sacrificial\nanimals to Mentawai Islands Regency: four cows and one buffalo.\nDistribution locations include Pagai Utara, Sipora Utara, Siberut Barat,\nSiberut Utara, and Pagai Selatan. \u201cEach mosque in these areas will\nreceive one sacrificial animal,\u201d Mursalim explained.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mursalim, field monitoring confirmed all sacrificial\nanimals were received, slaughtered according to regulations, and meat\ndistributed to eligible communities, totalling approximately 670 bags.\nHe added that some meat was also shared with non-Muslim communities\naround mosques, reflecting religious tolerance and harmony in\nMentawai.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is impressive that the sacrificial meat is also distributed to\nnon-Muslim communities. The religious harmony here is evident and\ndeserves appreciation,\u201d Mursalim said.<\/p>\n<p>Sulaiman (54), a mosque official at Taqwa Tua Pejat Mosque, expressed\ngratitude for the Qurban Distribution Programme initiated by West\nSumatra Governor Mahyeldi Ansharullah. He stated it is highly beneficial\nand strengthens community bonds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur community is greatly assisted by the Provincial Government\u2019s\nQurban Programme. We feel cared for despite the distance from the\nregional capital,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>It is known that in 2026, the total sacrificial animals distributed\nby Pemprov Sumbar through the Qurban Programme amount to 173: 139 cows,\none buffalo, and 33 goats. These animals come from contributions by\nCivil Servants (ASN), State-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), and partners\nwithin the provincial government.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Mentawai Islands Regency received two sacrificial\nanimals from President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto,\nallocated to Nurul Iman Mosque in Bukit Pamewa and Jabal Nur Mosque in\nSipora Utara District.<\/p>",
