        "content": "<p>The Provincial Government of West Java is implementing a commodity\nauction system in the West Java International Industry and Trade Expo\n(Wiitex) 2026 to guarantee price transparency and protect the profit\nmargins of coffee, tea, and cocoa farmers at the upstream level. Head of\nthe West Java Industry and Trade Office, Nining Yuliastiani, confirmed\non Thursday in Bandung that this open auction scheme was deliberately\napplied so that local agricultural product prices are not manipulated\nbelow the fair market price. \u201cWe will conduct commodity auctions. Thank\nGod it has been confirmed, for coffee, tea, and cocoa, there are already\nbusiness players whose products are ready to be auctioned and buyers and\ntraders will also be present. This way, prices will be transparent and\nin accordance with fair prices. So prices will not drop, and farmers\nwill be able to enjoy better pricing later,\u201d said Nining. This step to\nprotect the value of commodities based on local resources is deemed\ncrucial considering that the international market preference for coffee\nand cocoa from West Java is good and is also predicted to continue\ngrowing. A significant increase has also occurred in processed cocoa,\nwhich in 2025 was valued at 687 million US dollars (with a volume of 75\nmillion tonnes), and in the first quarter of 2026 has already recorded\nan export value of 123 million US dollars. Nining added that this\nintegrated upstream-to-downstream exhibition is not only open to large\ncorporations but also provides broad access for the general public and\nsmall farmers to consult directly on export regulations and quality\nstandardisation with 19 related institutions, including Customs,\nQuarantine, and the Ministry of Trade. On a separate occasion, the Head\nof the Plantation Team at the Directorate General of National Export\nDevelopment, Ministry of Trade, Irman Adi Purwanto Moefthi, expressed\nhis support for strengthening these plantation commodities. \u201cThrough\nthis integration of regional and national exhibitions, we hope that the\ntransaction value of Indonesian plantation commodities this year will be\nable to surpass last year\u2019s Trade Expo Indonesia achievement, which\nrecorded a figure above 20 billion US dollars,\u201d said Irman.
