        "content": "<p>West Java has set a major target in the field of employment. The West\nJava Provincial Government wants to ensure that more young people have\naccess to training, jobs, and capital so that the unemployment rate can\nbe reduced. The regional government is even targeting that by 2029 there\nwill be no more unemployed young people in West Java.<\/p>\n<p>The target is being pursued through various competency improvement\nprogrammes, one of which is the SMK Go Global Programme. This programme\ntargets graduates of senior high schools, vocational high schools, and\nIslamic senior high schools who are being prepared to enter the\nworkforce, including opening up opportunities to work in the\ninternational market.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 1,280 graduates of senior high schools, vocational high\nschools, and Islamic senior high schools from West Java have passed the\nselection process to take part in the programme. They will receive\ntraining at a number of vocational institutions and universities with\nmaterials tailored to industry needs.<\/p>\n<p>West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman said that these efforts\ncannot be carried out by the government alone. Collaboration between\nministries, regional governments, universities, and various parties is\nconsidered important to expand job opportunities for the younger\ngeneration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a great collaboration scheme, where the relevant ministry,\ntogether with universities, the government and universities collaborate\nto prepare our children to participate in the global job market through\nthe SMK Global programme,\u201d Herman said while attending the Kick Off of\nthe SMK Go Global Programme at Bandung Technology University, Bandung\nCity, Wednesday (26\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>One of the main focuses of the strategy is to expand the programme\u2019s\nreach to various regions of West Java. The regional government does not\nwant training and job access to be concentrated only in certain\ncities.<\/p>\n<p>Herman said the government will involve all state and private\nuniversities to expand access to skills improvement and job\nopportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we will keep pushing, we will expand not only to a few\nuniversities. We will encourage all state and private universities,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The network will also be developed down to the district,\nsub-district, and village and urban ward levels.
