The West Java Provincial Government has officially taken over the\nmanagement of the suspension bridge in Margacinta Village, Cijulang\nDistrict, Pangandaran Regency, after the infrastructure sagged shortly\nafter its inauguration on Sunday (30\/8).<\/p>\n
Speaking in Bandung on Thursday, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyable\nstated that the provincial government will construct a permanent bridge\nin 2027 to replace the unfortunate suspension bridge, aiming to support\ninter-regional connectivity and the mobility of four-wheeled vehicles\nthat underpin the local economy.<\/p>\n
He explained that the takeover of this project was undertaken due to\nthe limited Regional Budget (APBD) allocations available to the\nPangandaran Regency Government.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will immediately build a permanent bridge so that it can be used\nby many people and cars, and can transport agricultural, livestock,\nfishery, and marine products,\u201d said Dedi.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, he continued, provincial government intervention was\ndeemed urgent to ensure that food commodities and community activities\nare not isolated. He also cautioned that the permanent facility to be\nbuilt must not be misused for dangerous activities, such as illegal\nracing.<\/p>\n
Previously, the unfortunate incident occurred when the Margacinta\nVillage suspension bridge suddenly collapsed on Sunday (30\/8) at 16:00\nWIB.<\/p>\n
