        "content": "<p>Local governments in West Java have been requested to respond to\nevery citizen complaint regarding discrepancies in socio-economic data\nwithin the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN). Local\nauthorities must provide clear information and facilitate the process of\ncorrecting citizen data.<\/p>\n<p>The Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman,\nexplained that the province has issued circular number\n8284\/PW.04.02\/ASDA EKBANG, dated 1 September 2026. This instruction\nrefers to a letter from the Head of the West Java Central Bureau of\nStatistics (BPS) regarding support for the socialisation of DTSEN\nupdates for higher education assistance programmes.<\/p>\n<p>Through the circular sent to the 27 regency and city secretaries\nacross West Java, the provincial government has established three\nprimary instructions. First, local governments are required to intensify\nsocialisation down to the sub-district, village, and neighbourhood\nlevels so that the public understands the procedures for updating data\nindependently via the dtsen-form.bps.go.id website.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, village heads and neighbourhood leaders are instructed to\ntake direct action to assist residents wishing to update their data by\nissuing certificates that reflect the factual condition of the family.\nThird, regency and city governments are requested to strengthen\ncoordination with their respective local BPS offices to ensure a smooth\ndata validation process, according to statements made in Bandung on\nWednesday (2\/9).<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it was noted that the public must receive clear\ninformation regarding the data update mechanism, including access to\nfacilities for correcting data if the recorded decile does not match\ntheir actual socio-economic condition. Therefore, the instruction must\nbe immediately followed up by all local governments, with the provincial\ngovernment emphasising that these steps must be implemented\nseriously.<\/p>",
