The West Java Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan,\ninaugurated a Simple Rental Housing Estate (Rusunawa) at Bojong Police\nBarracks belonging to Tasikmalaya City Police District on Thursday, 26\nFebruary. The facility will accommodate 40 heads of household. The\ninauguration was attended by officials from Tasikmalaya City Government\nand the Tasikmalaya City Police District.<\/p>\n
The construction of the housing estate for police personnel consumed\na budget of Rp 13 billion, sourced from the public through taxation.\nSetiawan stated that the establishment of the building was inseparable\nfrom public trust in the Police institution and support from the\nTasikmalaya City Government throughout the construction process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe two-storey building with 40 housing units for 40 heads of\nhousehold serving as accommodation for members of Tasikmalaya City\nPolice District is equipped with two bedrooms, a living room, a\nbathroom, a volleyball court, parking area, green space, mains water,\ngroundwater supply, and each house has prepaid electricity and concrete\nroads,\u201d Setiawan said.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that adequate housing is an important factor in\nsupporting personnel performance. According to him, without public\nsupport, the building would not operate as planned, as adequate housing\nis directly related to the readiness of officers to carry out their\nduties maintaining public safety and order.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithout public support, this building would not function as planned\nbecause proper housing is an important factor in supporting personnel\nperformance. However, this house is a place to rest and a source of\nenergy before returning to the task of maintaining public safety and\norder,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Setiawan also reminded all parties to maintain the facilities\nproperly, given the substantial budget allocation and the need for\noptimal and sustainable utilisation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe request that Rusunawa not be treated like a dormitory and left in\npoor condition. This is a home, not a rental property. If the paint is\ndirty, it should be cleaned; if doors are damaged, they should be\nrepaired and not neglected.
