Garut (ANTARA) \u2014 West Java Police\u2019s Resmob team, together with Garut\nPolice, have arrested a 19-year-old man identified by the initials MHA,\nwho is suspected of shooting a student and causing a serious injury to\nhis left eye in Garut Regency.<\/p>\n
\u201c The suspect was then taken to Garut Police headquarters with the\nevidence for further questioning,\u201d West Java Police public relations\nchief, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, told reporters on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n
Hendra said MHA was arrested on Friday afternoon, 9 October 2026, in\nthe Gang Babakan Pogor area of Mangkurakyat village, Cilawu district,\nGarut Regency, after police had been searching for him for several\ndays.<\/p>\n
During the arrest, officers also seized a black-and-silver Glock\n19-style airsoft gun believed to be connected to the incident.<\/p>\n
The victim, a high-school student in Garut, suffered a serious injury\nto his left eye and required medical treatment at Cicendo Hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim was found to have swelling and bleeding in his left eye\nafter returning from a camping activity,\u201d Hendra said.<\/p>\n
The victim was initially said to have been injured by a plastic ball.\nHowever, a medical examination at Cicendo Hospital found metal fragments\nin his left eye.<\/p>\n
According to one of the victim\u2019s friends, a man identified by the\ninitials MHA allegedly came to the event location and fired the weapon\nthree times, hitting the victim\u2019s left eye.<\/p>\n
Investigators are still establishing the sequence of events and the\nalleged offences based on the results of their inquiry.<\/p>\n
The victim was earlier identified as 15-year-old Pazwa Pahaludin, a\nhigh-school student living in Cilawu district, Garut Regency. Initial\nreports said the incident took place during a school alumni gathering at\na location in Sukawening district, Garut.<\/p>\n
