West Java's provincial government is leveraging its integrated Sapawarga application to distribute 3,040 free travel tickets for Eid 2026 and monitor traffic flow during the peak holiday period via CCTV surveillance. The initiative aims to provide citizens with accurate, safe, and transparent information about homecoming routes whilst ensuring public safety through real-time traffic monitoring and 74 buses across three departure dates in March 2026.

Bandung — The West Java Provincial Government is optimising its
integrated Sapawarga application to distribute 3,040 free Eid travel
tickets for 2026, whilst monitoring traffic flow during the period
through CCTV surveillance.

The Head of the West Java Department of Communication and Informatics
(Diskominfo), Mas Adi Komar, stated that the application’s use is
intended to facilitate public access to accurate, safe, and transparent
homecoming travel information in one convenient platform.

“We are focusing on delivering more accurate information,
particularly regarding safe and smooth homecoming routes, as well as the
free travel programme integrated with traffic monitoring via CCTV,” said
Adi in Bandung on Friday.

Members of the public wishing to participate in the free travel
programme can register from 11 February to 12 March 2026 by uploading
personal data including their national identity number (NIK), family
card number (KK), and departure route. Ticket activation is scheduled
for 1-12 March 2026.

The Head of the West Java Department of Transportation, Dhani
Gumelar, added that the department has prepared 74 buses from various
reputable operators including PO Sugeng Rahayu, Damri, Sinar Jaya,
Primajasa, and MGI to serve routes within and outside the province.

“The 2026 Free Travel Programme will depart on 13, 14, and 15 March
2026 with departure points from Leuwipanjang Terminal (Bandung),
Cikarang Terminal, and Bekasi City,” said Dhani.

He guaranteed that all fleet vehicles have undergone technical
inspection (ramp check) and bus crews are in good health to ensure
passenger safety throughout their journeys.

In addition to free travel facilities, West Java’s provincial
government has also established a Command Centre serving as the
information control hub. This facility utilises the CCTV network along
homecoming routes and tourist routes to provide real-time data regarding
traffic conditions.

“The Command Centre will prove highly beneficial for the public and
field personnel for monitoring and making appropriate decisions
regarding travel conditions during the 1447 Hijriah homecoming period,”
said Adi Komar.

This digitalisation step, according to Adi, has been taken given the
West Java Department of Transportation’s prediction that approximately
70 per cent of homebound travellers will still use private vehicles,
particularly along toll roads in the West Java region.

Therefore, integration between the Sapawarga application and CCTV
monitoring is expected to serve as a solution for homebound travellers
to avoid congestion points and landslide-prone areas that have been
coordinated with relevant departments.
",
