Garut (ANTARA) - Member of Commission V of the West Java DPRD
(Regional People’s Representative Council), Aten Munajat, has called on
the provincial and district/city governments to ensure that scholarship
programmes for higher education are transparent and easily accessible to
all members of the public, particularly for underprivileged families and
high-achieving students.

“The most important thing is to ensure that information about
scholarships is truly transparent and easily accessible to the public,
even in remote areas,” said Aten Munajat in Garut, Friday.

He said that the higher education scholarship programmes for the
people of West Java should be supported and appreciated as a form of the
government’s commitment to providing equal access to education,
especially for underprivileged families and high-achieving students.

The scholarship programmes launched by the West Java Province, he
said, include the Jabar Future Leaders Scholarship (JFLS), which is a
step towards encouraging the emergence of a superior and competitive
young generation.

He hopes that all educational scholarship programmes in West Java can
be widely socialised to all members of the community in various corners
so that no one is left behind in terms of information, as everyone
deserves the opportunity to receive a scholarship.

“Socialisation must be more massive so that people from lower
socio-economic backgrounds are not left behind and have the same
opportunity to receive educational assistance,” said the DPRD member for
the Garut Regency electoral district.

Aten also hopes that, in addition to prioritising certain groups, the
registration and verification processes should be made simpler and less
complicated, making it easier for prospective scholarship
recipients.

He also encourages the West Java provincial government, as well as
district/city governments such as Garut Regency, which have educational
scholarship programmes, to continue to increase the quota each year in
order to build the region and develop superior human resources.

“In the future, the local government is also expected to increase the
quota for scholarship recipients so that more children from West Java,
including in Garut Regency, can benefit,” he said.
",
