        "content": "<p>The West Java Provincial Government has handled 60 cases of human\ntrafficking (TPPO) from January to June 2026 and continues to strengthen\npsychological, social, and legal assistance for victims until their\nrecovery process is complete.<\/p>\n<p>Siska Gerfianti, Head of the West Java Office of Women\u2019s Empowerment,\nChild Protection, and Family Planning (DP3AKB), stated during a National\nSeminar commemorating Anti-Human Trafficking Day 2026 at the Witness and\nVictim Protection Agency (LPSK) in Jakarta that reports of TPPO in the\nregion have continued to rise over the past three years. In 2024, 39\ncases were recorded, increasing to 59 cases in 2025, and reaching 60\ncases by June 2026. She noted that while some victims have returned to\ntheir home regions, the government continues to provide assistance\nbecause the majority suffer from trauma due to violence and\nexploitation.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that support does not stop after victims are\nrepatriated but continues according to their recovery needs. One ongoing\ncase involves an incident in Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara,\ninvolving 13 victims from West Java. The West Java Provincial\nGovernment, together with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency\n(LPSK), is assisting the victims in providing testimony during trials to\nensure the legal process proceeds smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>To strengthen prevention, Siska said the West Java Provincial\nGovernment has established a TPPO Task Force, a Women and Children\nProtection Coordination Team, and implemented a moratorium on the\ndeparture of female migrant workers who still have children under five.\nThis policy is expected to reduce the vulnerability of women to human\ntrafficking while strengthening protection for children and\nfamilies.<\/p>",
