        "content": "<p>West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has once again emphasised a new\ndirection for the West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati in\nMajalengka Regency, to be transformed into a national defence industry\nintegration centre, coinciding with the reopening of commercial flights\nat Husein Sastranegara Airport. The plan to establish a domestic\nmilitary industry cluster is being prepared to accommodate the\nconsolidation of defence state-owned enterprises (BUMN) such as PT\nDirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and PT Pindad, in order to support\noperational bases and military aircraft assembly. \u201cFor Kertajati\nAirport, we have indeed been continuously holding discussions, including\nwith the President during his visit to Karawang, expressing our hope\nthat Kertajati Airport becomes a domestic defence industry centre,\u201d Dedi\nsaid following the inauguration of the Bandung Basin BRT project at the\nLeuwipanjang Terminal in Bandung on Wednesday. Dedi stressed that this\nfunctional role division is a tactical solution to ensure BIJB Kertajati\nremains optimally supporting the nation\u2019s strategic ecosystem, while\nshort and medium-haul commercial flights are refocused on Husein\nSastranegara Airport in Bandung City. At the same location, Minister of\nTransportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that the central government fully\nsupports the West Java Governor\u2019s idea. According to him, the central\ngovernment is continuing to coordinate thoroughly so that the division\nof roles between Kertajati Airport and Husein Airport provides optimal\neconomic and geopolitical impact for the region.
