        "content": "<p>The West Java Environmental Agency (DLH) has deployed a team from the\nEnvironmental Protection and Management Supervisory Unit (PPLH) to\ninvestigate suspected waste dumping in a river stream in the Leuwikuray\narea, Ciwidey, Bandung Regency. This step was taken following reports\nfrom residents regarding the condition of the river water, which\nsuddenly turned pitch black.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the West Java Environmental Agency, Ai Saadiyah Dwidaningsih,\nconfirmed that officers were already on the ground combing the\nriverbanks. This effort is being carried out to identify the main source\nof the pollution that has alarmed the local community. \u2018The team has\nbeen deployed to the location (of the pollution),\u2019 said Ai Saadiyah when\ncontacted on Sunday (19\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to conducting a physical sweep, the West Java\nEnvironmental Agency has also taken water samples for laboratory\ntesting. This clinical test is necessary to determine the type of\npollutant substances contained in the river flow. \u2018It is still being\nprocessed, but we have certainly assigned the West Java DLH PPLH team to\ninvestigate this finding,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n<p>The case came to light after residents recorded the phenomenon of the\nblackened river water and uploaded it to social media, where it went\nviral. According to residents, the river\u2019s condition the previous day\nwas still normal and clear, but it changed drastically within a short\nperiod of time.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the widely circulated reports, West Java Governor Dedi\nMulyadi gave firm instructions to the relevant agencies to conduct a\nswift investigation. The Governor urged his staff to immediately find\nthe exact cause of the pollution so that any illegal waste disposal\nactivities, if proven, can be stopped immediately. As of the time this\nreport was filed, the PPLH team is still awaiting the results of the\nlaboratory tests on the Leuwikuray river water samples to determine the\nnext steps for law enforcement.<\/p>",
