The West Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of\nCorrections (Ditjenpas) has proposed 1,454 inmates for amnesty from\nPresident Prabowo Subianto.<\/p>\n
Head of the Guidance Division at the West Java Ditjenpas Regional\nOffice, Ishadi Maja Prayitno, said that of that number, around 1,100\ninmates fall under the national amnesty programme.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are actually still waiting for the amnesty decree. There are\n1,454 amnesty decrees still awaiting the President\u2019s signature,\u201d Ishadi\nsaid in Bandung on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf the 1,454 amnesty decrees, around 1,100 are for the national\namnesty programme. So they will be included in something like the\nReserve Component (Komcad),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, implementation of the programme is still awaiting\noperational guidelines (juklak) and technical guidelines (juknis) from\nthe government.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, he said, around 354 other inmates fall under the\nhumanitarian amnesty category. They consist of inmates with specific\nconditions, such as prolonged illness and advanced age.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe remainder are humanitarian amnesty cases. Prolonged illness,\nelderly, and so on. They will be released directly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Ishadi said the amnesty proposals were submitted in 2026. For\nrecipients of the national amnesty specifically, one of the requirements\nis that they be aged between 18 and 40 years.<\/p>\n
However, recipients of the national amnesty will not be released\nimmediately once the decree is issued. They are still required to\nundergo training, the mechanism for which is currently being prepared by\nthe government.<\/p>\n
\u201cExcept for the national amnesty recipients, who must undergo\ntraining first. As for the operational and technical guidelines, we are\nstill waiting for them from the government,\u201d Ishadi said.<\/p>\n
He said the training for national amnesty recipients is planned to\nhave a concept roughly similar to the Reserve Component (Komcad)\nprogramme, but with a shorter training period.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be more or less like Komcad, but perhaps more condensed due\nto cost considerations. However, the plan is for them to be placed at\nthe Brimob facility in Cikeas.
