JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The enactment of the Domestic Workers\nProtection Law (UU PPRT) has received full support from official\nplacement agencies.<\/p>\n
One such endorsement comes from the Mutiara Bunda Foundation, a\ndomestic worker placement company (P3RT) that has been operating since\n1997 in the Kebon Jeruk area of West Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The foundation\u2019s representatives stated that they have no objections\nto the various strict regulations now imposed on placement agencies and\nemployers. This is because they have been applying these standards far\nbefore the law was passed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe strongly agree and fully support it, and if you ask about any\ndifficulties, we don\u2019t have any, because all our workers have already\nfollowed what is contained in the law, actually long before this UU\nexisted,\u201d said Russell when met by Kompas.com at the foundation on\nFriday (24\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
As a foundation certified by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) and\nthe Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), Russell\nmentioned that his foundation has placed around 9,000 female workers\nacross Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The majority of the workers placed are babysitters, housekeepers, and\ncaregivers for elderly individuals who need companionship.<\/p>\n
Regarding the age limit of at least 18 years stipulated in the UU\nPPRT, Russell assured that his foundation has strictly adhered to this\nfor a long time.<\/p>\n
In fact, the minimum age limit applied by the foundation is higher\nthan the law\u2019s minimum requirement.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor our foundation, because we already follow government\nregulations, we do not accept anyone under 19 years old. So we are\nindeed compliant, as all our babysitters are entered into the system,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey themselves have proactively obtained BPJS, so there is indeed\neducation on protection for this profession,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Russell also revealed that his foundation offers varied wages for the\ndomestic workers placed, ranging from Rp 3 million to Rp 6 million,\ndepending on experience and the workload at the placement home.<\/p>\n
Russell emphasised that his side always guarantees the quality of the\nworkers placed because they undergo a lengthy process, from profile\nchecks, training, to periodic health checks.<\/p>\n
