        "content": "<p>Welcoming the holy month<\/p>\n<p>As the most populous Muslim country in the world, many<br>\nIndonesians welcome the Ramadhan holy month happily.<\/p>\n<p>The Muslims living near the ancient Luar Batang mosque located<br>\nin North Jakarta are no exception.<\/p>\n<p>The mosque was built by Habib Husin bin Abubakar Alaydrus in<br>\n1739. When he passed away, his remain were buried inside the<br>\nmosque.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the mosque is well over 200 years old, many people<br>\nstill use it to pray.<\/p>\n<p>Just like other Muslims worldwide, many of the people in Luar<br>\nBatang diligently rise for sahur (predawn meal), wait patiently<br>\nuntil buka puasa (breaking the fast meal) and participate in<br>\nTarawih mass prayers every single day of the fasting month, which<br>\nstarted on Nov. 6.<\/p>\n<p>From toddlers to senior citizens, they greet Ramadhan in their<br>\nown ways but with the same goal: To properly observe their<br>\nreligious obligations.<\/p>\n<p>Text and photos by R.
