A group of press members belonging to the Cross Journalists\nCommunity, together with the Narcotics Crime Directorate of the National\nPolice Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri), held a Red and\nWhite flag-raising ceremony and distributed social aid in the hilly area\nof Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, in order to welcome the 81st\nAnniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the Cross Journalists Community, Ferdiansyah Marlupy,\nstated that the activity was designed to combine the challenge of an\nautomotive hobby with a mission of social concern in remote areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis togetherness and concrete action is proof that safeguarding and\nfilling independence can be done in various ways. Not only conquering\nthe challenges of extreme terrain, but also spreading care for others,\u201d\nhe said in his statement in Jakarta on Sunday.<\/p>\n
He explained that using trail motorbikes, 20 riders consisting of\njournalists and police officers traversed rocky and steep road obstacles\ntowards the highest point of the Hambalang hills, known as Kampung\nSepuluh.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon arriving at the summit, the group raised a 2x2 metre Red and\nWhite flag accompanied by the strains of the national anthem Indonesia\nRaya as a form of respect and the spirit of independence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, another journalist, Helmi Sajangbati, mentioned that it\ndid not stop at the flag-raising procession; the group of journalists\nthen made their way through the local residents\u2019 village in Babakan\nMadang District to distribute stationery packages to schoolchildren.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe aid is expected to support the learning needs of the next\ngeneration in remote areas,\u201d said Helmi.<\/p>\n
This social action received a positive response from the local\ncommunity. Ani, a resident of Babakan Madang, expressed her appreciation\nfor the concern shown by the journalists and the police, who had shared\njoy and educational assistance with the children in her village.<\/p>\n
