President Prabowo Subianto led a simultaneous corn harvest event\norganised by the Indonesian National Police in Tuban, East Java. Wearing\na cowboy hat, Prabowo harvested corn using heavy machinery.<\/p>\n
The Simultaneous Corn Harvest for the Second Quarter of 2026 and the\nGroundbreaking of 10 Food Security Warehouses of the Indonesian National\nPolice were held in Dusun Kedung Sari, Tuwiri Wetan, Merakurak, Tuban,\non Sunday (16 May 2026). After delivering a speech and participating in\nthe groundbreaking ceremony, Prabowo proceeded with the corn\nharvest.<\/p>\n
Prabowo was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs\nZulkifli Hasan, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, and Chief\nof the Indonesian National Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo while\noperating the corn reaper machine. Wearing a cream-coloured cowboy hat,\nPrabowo harvested three rows of corn, approximately 30 metres in\nlength.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Sigit stated that in 2025, the Indonesian National\nPolice successfully planted corn on 661,112 hectares of land, yielding\n3.9 million tons of harvest.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis also contributed to the increase in national corn production in\n2025, by 6.74 per cent or 1.8 million tons. To continue this\nachievement, there is potential land that we need to cultivate, which is\n1.37 million hectares spread across Indonesia,\u201d said Sigit.<\/p>\n
In January 2026, Sigit said that the Indonesian National Police also\nconducted a harvest for the first quarter on 91,000 hectares of land,\nyielding 884,129 tons. Today, it is the corn harvest for the second\nquarter.<\/p>\n
\u201cFurthermore, today, led by Mr.\u00a0President, we will carry out the\nsimultaneous corn harvest for the second quarter on 189,760 hectares of\nland, with the potential to yield around 1.23 million tons,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
From this harvest, 100 tons of corn will be exported to Malaysia, and\nfarmers are expected to benefit from this corn export. Specifically in\nTuban, corn is cultivated on 101.5 hectares of land.<\/p>\n
