        "content": "<p>Wealth audit unawareness lamented<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: State Minister of Administrative Reforms Feisal Tamin<br>\nexpressed regret on Thursday that many government officials<br>\nremained reluctant to report their wealth to the State Officials<br>\nWealth Audit Commission (KPKPN).<\/p>\n<p>\"The law must be upheld,\" Feisal said after a Cabinet meeting.<br>\nHe was referring to the 1999 antigraft law which authorizes KPKPN<br>\nto audit the wealth of state officials, ranging from the<br>\nPresident to state employees at the lowest level of the<br>\nadministration.<\/p>\n<p>He said a government regulation stipulated sanctions for civil<br>\nservants who failed to comply with the wealth audit law,<br>\nincluding demotion.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, he added, the government renewed its call on the<br>\nrecalcitrant officials to adhere to the rules.<\/p>\n<p>Lack of obedience to the wealth audit ruling is also rampant<br>\namong House of Representatives legislators, but no action has<br>\nbeen taken against them. -- JP<\/p>",
