We need a leader of vision<\/p>\n
We all know that Indonesia today is in the midst of a monetary
\ncrisis. Naturally many aspects have to be overcome, not just
\nremedying the value of the rupiah against the dollar. We face
\nchaotic problems in unemployment, education, development,
\ndistribution, urbanization and poverty, not to mention moral
\nproblems like corruption and collusion.<\/p>\n
In the current climate, in my opinion, we need a leader with
\nrealistic, simple, modest and down-to-earth concepts that suit
\nour situation and culture. Not just people with a bundle of
\ndreams about technology and industry, nor people spouting empty
\nslogans.<\/p>\n
I fully agree with Siswono Yudohusodo's short-term concept of
\nthe situation. In his statement during a hearing of the House of
\nRepresentatives recently, the national car and N-2130 airplane
\nproject should be delayed, then the funds could be used to
\nfinance a transmigration program. Other aspects would be covered
\nby this step, such as unemployment and poverty, also
\nurbanization\/population and development distribution.<\/p>\n
Transmigration combined with a good education system would
\nproduce balanced development of regions and people throughout the
\ncountry.<\/p>\n
We should not be ashamed that we have to start from the
\nbeginning again. We should review what would be the best for the
\ncountry, within the frame of the present climate and culture. We
\nhave too many islands, too much land and water and rich natural
\nresources that could be exploited for the welfare of the whole
\npopulation.<\/p>\n
We need a leader who knows how to build the nation and head it
\nin the right direction as stipulated in the 1945 Constitution.<\/p>\n
As a housewife, I pledge my full support to whoever the future
\nleader is.<\/p>\n
