Police will tighten surveillance of illegal parking in Jogja during\nthe Lebaran holiday. In addition to persuasive guidance, electronic\nticketing (ETLE) enforcement has been prepared for drivers who park\nillegally, whilst unlicensed parking attendants will face minor criminal\ncharges (tipiring).<\/p>\n
The Traffic Chief of Jogja City Police, Senior Police Commissioner\nAlvian Hidayat, stated that his office has coordinated with the\nTransportation Department (Dishub) and consolidated both official\nparking attendants and landowners operating parking facilities. This\nmeasure is being taken to ensure that parking services for tourists run\nin an orderly manner.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have already gathered officially licensed parking attendants and\nthose who own parking facilities. They are ready to welcome tourists,\nnot just seeking income but also being transparent regarding parking\nrates,\u201d said Alvian when contacted by detikJogja on Thursday (12 March\n2026).<\/p>\n
Alvian explained that parking attendants have been encouraged to\ndisplay parking rates clearly and provide receipts to tourists. He also\nemphasised that illegal parking practices using public roadways would\nnot be tolerated as they have the potential to cause traffic\ncongestion.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur parking attendants are encouraged to be transparent regarding\ntheir parking rates. The tariffs are displayed, and then there are\nreceipts issued, so it is clear and not arbitrary,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
To anticipate this, Alvian stated that officers will be deployed at\nseveral locations frequently used for illegal parking. In addition,\nenforcement will also be carried out through electronic ticketing using\nhandheld ETLE devices.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow we are using devices like mobile phones. Members simply\nphotograph vehicles that are in violation, and the data is immediately\nentered and validated. After that, the evidence of the ticket can be\nprinted and attached with a QR code,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not merely an appeal. If a ticket is attached, it means a\ncitation has already been issued. Later, if the ticket is not\nacknowledged or the fine is not paid, the vehicle can be blocked,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, for unlicensed parking attendants who persist in\noperating, police stated that enforcement can be carried out through\njoint operations with relevant agencies, including the Civil Service\nPolice. Sanctions being prepared include minor criminal charges\n(tipiring).<\/p>\n
\u201cFor illegal parking attendants, there will be a task force\nconducting enforcement. At minimum, they can be charged with a minor\ncriminal offence or tipiring,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
