        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo of the Republic of Indonesia\nheld a halalbihalal at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Saturday\n(21\/3\/2026), during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah\/2026 CE\nfestivities.<\/p>\n<p>Similar to previous years, the halalbihalal organised by Prabowo was\nnot limited to officials alone.<\/p>\n<p>The general public who wished to attend were also permitted to enter\nthe Palace from midday until late afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>A warm atmosphere prevailed in this moment of togetherness.<\/p>\n<p>Although the event only began in the afternoon, many citizens had\nalready queued since morning to join the halalbihalal with President\nPrabowo.<\/p>\n<p>The queue in front of the Majapahit Gate at the Palace complex even\nsnaked up to around 60 metres.<\/p>\n<p>Kompas.com observations showed citizens queuing under white-and-green\ntents while standing.<\/p>\n<p>The citizens, who came from various areas in Jabodetabek, consisted\nof young people, mothers, children, the elderly, and people with\ndisabilities.<\/p>\n<p>According to statements from the citizens, many of them arrived\ndirectly after performing Eid prayers. The citizens also appeared to\nqueue while jostling.<\/p>\n<p>One citizen from Bogor, Hardi, claimed to have queued since 07.00 WIB\nafter completing his Eid prayer at Istiqlal Mosque.<\/p>\n<p>However, the 30-year-old man was somewhat disappointed because the\npalace gate would only open at 13.00 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>Another citizen, Septi, also said she came straight to the Palace and\nqueued under the hot sun to attend the halalbihalal after Eid\nprayers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe info was that there would be staple goods. That\u2019s why I came\nhere,\u201d said Septi.<\/p>\n<p>Septi claimed to have received information about the halalbihalal\nfrom her friends during tarawih prayers at Istiqlal Mosque.<\/p>\n<p>The Palace prepared various traditional Nusantara dishes as a\nluncheon for the attending public at the halalbihalal.<\/p>\n<p>The halalbihalal with the public was held in a tent in the central\ncourtyard of the Palace complex.<\/p>\n<p>Citizens appeared to enjoy the provided meals, including siomay,\nbakso, chicken opor and ketupat, empal gentong, satay, es teler, es\ncampur, and various other market snacks.<\/p>",
