Java to host 250cc motorcross meet<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Preparations are underway at the Jatinangor<br>\ncircuit, West Java, for the 12th leg of the world 250cc<br>\nmotorcross championship from Aug. 2 to Aug. 3.<\/p>\n<p>Organizer Helmy Sungkar said Tuesday: \"We are still working on<br>\nthe circuit and hopefully it will be ready by August 2. All<br>\nexpenses for the circuit's construction are being borne by the<br>\nIndonesian Automotive Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\"Since an international championship will be held at the<br>\ncircuit, we want to make the circuit as exclusive as possible.\"<\/p>\n<p>The world 250cc motorcross championship is an International<br>\nMotor Federation (FIM) series.<\/p>\n<p>World class riders from 15 countries, including the United<br>\nStates, Italy, England, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, New<br>\nZealand, Japan and Australia, will compete in the 12th leg of the<br>\nseries.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers wish to host races for 125cc and 80cc motorcycles<br>\nduring the championship leg.<\/p>\n<p>\"We are planning to have both national and foreign racers take<br>\npart in the two classes. We are seeking permission from both FIM<br>\nand the Indonesian Motorcycle Federation for the two races,\"<br>\nHelmy said.<\/p>\n<p>Foreign competitors are expected to arrive in Indonesia a week<br>\nbefore the championship and to get a feel for the circuit.
