While the economic situation has yet to return to normal,
\nthere are still government officials who make the public nervous
\nwith their statements.<\/p>\n
Our Vice President, Hamzah Haz, said that family planning
\nwould not make anybody smart or rich.<\/p>\n
If everybody agreed with the Vice President, then countries
\nwouldn't send delegates to study how family planning has been
\nimplemented in Indonesia. It must also be remembered that in
\n1988, the United Nations gave Indonesia a citation for its
\nsuccess with family planning.<\/p>\n
If the family planning drive in Indonesia fails, how large
\nwill the Indonesian population become? Family planning seeks to
\nlimit population growth so that the quality of life can be
\nimproved.<\/p>\n
If the Vice President's suggestion is followed, what kinds of
\njobs would be suitable for some 57,000 family planning field
\nworkers? Failing to find new jobs, they could easily become
\ncriminals. But please don't blame them. The question is whether
\nor not the police are ready to face an increased crime rate.
\nHopefully, none of this will come to pass.<\/p>\n
