It is already clear that six pairs of presidential and vice
\npresidential candidates will compete in the July 5 election --
\nMegawati Soekarnoputri-Hasyim Muzadi, Wiranto-Solahuddin Wahid,
\nSusilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Jusuf Kalla, Amien Rais-Siswono
\nYudohusodo, Hamzah Haz-Agum Gumelar, and Abdurrahman Wahid-Marwah
\nDaud Ibrahim.<\/p>\n
The question is, why should we vote for them? One or two of
\nthem have begun promoting themselves in the mass media.<\/p>\n
People should be taught to elect a leader not because of his
\nor her looks, as seen on television.<\/p>\n
The success of an elected leader depends on their capability
\nto gain the support of the people and the legislators by
\ninfluencing them through their platforms and not through
\nadvertisements.<\/p>\n
We have to see the differences between the candidates'
\nrespective platforms, which seem to be all about fighting
\ncorruption, collusion and nepotism, creating new
\njobs, and having the ideal budget for education.<\/p>\n
We thus ask the presidential aspirants, \"What are your
\nplatforms?\" To the people, we say, \"Elect the pair who will be
\nable to make us support its strategies on how to make our dreams
